Vilma Marė is a clothing designer who is passionate about preserving the endangered world – the image of Natural Cultures – through handicrafts and an ecologically progressive worldview. In her personal exhibitions of composite clothing and sewing art, she talks about the extraordinary power and mythical way of women. Her original linen handicrafts are full of signs of natural identity from the ancient Sarmatian culture.
V.Marė’s artistic expression through community studies finds and offers deeper references to contemporary clothing, such as Indigenous Resistance.
Marė shapes wool garments through graphic relief textures, whose decor is mostly symmetrical and always functional. Marė has complemented de-constructive fashion with the original architectural aesthetic of boiled wool in an original processing technique.
